As part of broader organisational change, our client was reviewing target operating models. Our remit was to review marketing from strategy, through go-to-market and operations. The remit was to assess current state across different lines of business and to develop a future model to include both centralised and de-centralised functions.
Our discovery process identified a total lack of consistency across lines of business; both in terms of structure, individual roles and purpose, and ways of working. There was duplication and gaps in certain skillsets which was causing significant operational challenges within, and between, teams.
Our solution identified an opportunity to create a holistic structure that optimised skills whilst ensuring lines of business had the right resources to support their own growth ambitions. Defining a central / LOB structure enabled the business to create specialist roles delivering better operational efficiency and effectiveness.
