Meet Elli Väre

We are delighted to have Elli Väre join the WoolfHodson team as our new marketing consultant, bringing to our clients the best skills in B2B marketing, marketing operations and marketing strategy. In this blog, Elli shares her inspiration, her career highlights and why she chose a career in B2B marketing.

Tell me more about your role as marketing consultant

My role is about listening to the clients’ needs and discovering the areas where we can support in. It’s about finding out what has been done, what needs to be done and what can be done when it comes to improving the client’s marketing strategy and performance.

What attracted you to work at WoolfHodson?

WoolfHodson does some super interesting work for its clients that creates a lot of value. Also after speaking with some of the team members I felt like the company ethos would suit me really well because they have that client first approach which means carefully listening and facilitating open conversations to get to the core issues. Work feels meaningful and you really get the sense that you are there to help solve problems. Also how the company and team operates suited me well, we have a really collaborative culture and open communication which is great.

What do you see as the most exciting developments in b2b marketing?

I think it’s great to see that B2B companies are steering away from creating generic content to segmented personalised content and messaging. Also automation has been trending for a while now and it’s always fun to design processes that makes the client’s life a little bit easier.

What’s your career highlight?

I’ve been lucky to work with some of the world’s leading technology and data companies so I’d say creating a great campaign or a process for a business always makes me feel proud. For instance, creating an engaging nurture campaign along with building a lead scoring model can really make an impact.

You have a rich history of marketing, what attracted you to marketing operations and technology?

I think I am naturally curious and have a knack for problem solving which is great when you work in marketing, I think curiosity actually led me to work with martech as I found myself to be increasingly interested in technology, and the more you know the more you want to know! Marketing operations is so gratifying too as you get to build processes and programmes that really make an impact on so many levels.

What is one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?

Stop worrying too much!

Tell us more about your recent roles and how these have prepared you for your role at WoolfHodson.

I’ve worked both at an in-house marketing team and at another agency so I have experience from both worlds, which is great when talking to clients. I think it’s easier to understand the client’s specific needs and also limitations when you’ve been on working inhouse as well as agency.

What is your one tip on how to get ahead in the evolving marketing industry?

Listen and learn! Some things you might inherently have a sense for but some marketing activity you just need to do in order to gain that confidence and experience

Who has inspired or influenced you the most in your career?

A good question, I think I take inspiration from most people around me, so I’d have to say a lot of people.

What do you do to relax?

I enjoy going to the gym or going for long walks after work to destress. In the summer I love to play tennis!

We are always keen to connect with great talent and are currently recruiting for various positions. Please take a look at our recruitment page for more details.
