Josh Tyler is our new Marketing Technology Specialist bringing focussed B2B Martech experience. A passionate problem solver, he works closely with our technical and marketing teams to resolve client’s individual challenges and execute on Martech solutions, ultimately improving their operation efficiency and boosting their sales and marketing performance.

Please tell us a bit more about your role at WoolfHodson?

As a Martech Specialist, I use my marketing technology knowledge and expertise to build and test technical solutions that help to fulfil marketing objectives through Martech project implementations. I work closely with our technical leads to resolve specific or overarching concerns for our clients. I also help ensure that our clients’ marketing and sales perform better through improved operation efficiency by delivering optimised campaigns, data capture and reporting.

WoolfHodson are ‘obsessive problem solvers.’ What makes you one?

The most enjoyable part of my role is the identification and diagnosis of the problems our clients come to us with. WoolfHodson digs really deep to get a full insight into each of its clients, and gets to really understand them so we can get a complete picture to help. I love working my brain in my downtime, so solving the ‘logic puzzle’ of our clients’ issues and creating a solid and complete solution is really my cup of tea!

What excites you the most about the marketing industry and emerging tech?

AI, in all parts of marketing. From chat bots to automation to personalisation, I’m really looking forward to seeing how AI will embed itself in marketing and to see how it will evolve in the coming years as it continues to grow and become more advanced.

What are you most passionate about either inside or outside of work?

I couldn’t say any one thing was my passion, it’s more that I’m passionate about trying to have a good and enjoyable life.

What’s your proudest career moment?

I’m very lucky to have had a few moments like that. But the one that stands out most to me is when I was very early on in my career. From only a few months of working in marketing automation, I managed to help our team produce a new way to deliver a very large nurture program, across some major regions. Once I formatted and delivered the new style to the team, we implemented it and one of my colleagues estimated I had saved about 40% of the workload, without compromising on any quality of delivery. Definitely made me feel proud that one, and I knew I had found the right career for me.

What motto do you live by?

More of a quote for me: “Don’t take life too seriously, nobody gets out alive anyway”.

What do you like to do outside of work to relax?

Well, anything I can do if I’m honest! I love trying new things, and I’m always up for a challenge! I’m really focused on volleyball at the moment, but I also love games, hiking and anime. I spend a lot of time with friends, just chatting or doing quizzes. I also love to do puzzles and work my brain!

What are some of your personal goals this year?

I want to head back to Scotland and climb Ben Nevis, we go every year so next time we want to get that sorted. I want to get better at volleyball, and also get my Marketo certifications and really expand my knowledge in other marketing automation platforms.
